Jo Wall's Profile
Jo Wall (formerly Adams) is an occupational therapist who has over 20 years of experience working in the health sector. Her clinical experience includes working in mental health services, facilitating health education and therapy groups, providing vocational rehabilitation, return to work and pain management programmes.
She provides individual and group therapy; for those experiencing depression, anxiety (including social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks), burnout, stress, emotional distress, trauma, psychotic disorders, maternal mental health problems, and addictions. Jo also has special interest in providing support for those coping with recent diagnosis of illness and the ongoing management of physical conditions, chronic pain, carer stress, and parenting children with disabilities. Jo uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy. |
Her approach is practical; providing opportunity to share whilst also focussing on learning mindfulness skills and taking action towards a valued life. Improved quality of life and a sense of vitality is the aim.
Jo’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (OT) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Mental Health. She is a member of the New Zealand Association of Occupational Therapists, Professional member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science, and a member of Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
